This lily of the valley egg at the Faberge Museum in St Petersburg was my favorite. The three photo frames fold into the egg.

Just a little place in the country.....
The Heritage was VERY crowded so we were thankful that our guide, Veronika, had pre-opening reservations.
Solid lapis lazuli table was a masterpiece.
The corridors in the Hermitage were completely decorated.  No expense was spared in the Imperial family's winter palace.
Beautiful hardwood floor patterns throughout the Hermitage.
The Hermitage was the Winter Palace so the architecture is quite lavish--lots of gilding and marble.
The Throne Room in the Hermitage
 Peterhof royal residence
Peterhof Palace--one of Peter the Great's homes.  It's fountains are like Versailles'.
Unfortunately it was overcast when we got to the Church of the Spilled Blood so the vibrant turret colors don't show up very well.

A very solemn guard by the Swedish capital.
Many of the shop signs in Gamla Stan were handmade works of art.
